Echo Speakers 2018

I don't know if I can even remember them all. But one of the biggest new products is a new update to the Echo Show. Now, this is Amazon's screen product that kind of is like if you had an Echo, and had a screen at the same time, and all the different things that you could do with that. Now they released an Echo Show about a little over a year ago now, and so this is their second version. And some of the things that they've added to this are pretty important. The first, and most obvious, thing is it's got a way bigger screen. This is now a ten inch HD display, as opposed to the 7 inch screen before. It also has a new refined design. It's kind of still got that little wedge shape going on, but on the back here you can see it's got this nice fabric finish, as opposed to the plastic that was before. It's really quite nice looking. It comes in both white or black. And then what they've really done as well, is really upgraded the audio quality of this. You've got two side firing speakers in the back and then a passive radiator for bass. So when you're listening to music, or watching TV, or watching a video on this you can get a lot better quality of sound then you could with the original Echo Show. Now, you can also still do the same types of things with like video chat. You can drop in, and call other Echo Shows, or Echo products, or Echo... Or Amazon Alexa apps on mobile devices and things like that. And they've updated a ton of the user interactions and software on this, including things like adding a browser. So, now if I say "Alexa, open Silk, and if my voice doesn't crack Alexa, open Silk. So, just like the Fire TV it's got Amazon Silk browser as well as Firefox browser available, and then you can browse things like. You can also, of course, browse to any other website you want. You just type in the address of the website that you want, and hit go, and you're good to go. So, that's a really nice thing to add. It's one of the things that missing from the Echo Show is the ability to read articles. Of course, you can also watch all of Amazon's fire, or excuse me, Amazon's Prime video content on here, as well as things like from Hulu, and other over the top video services. It also integrates to the bunch of other new products that Amazon announced, like a DVR that pulls in OTA signals from the air and allows you to record them, and then you can watch them on your Echo Show. Now, that's the Echo Show. This is going to be $229. It's the same price as the prior model. I believe it's available for order real soon. It's going to be shipping next month. But that's only one of the many things that you've got here. So, we've got a lot of other stuff to look at too.So, in addition to the new Echo show there's also a new Echo Dot, and it looks like this. And you can see that, compared to the old Echo Dot, which is Amazon's most popular Echo device you can see the new Echo Dot is quite a bit larger. It's got a little bit more rounded of a design. It's got a fabric finish. It's really nice looking. But the big difference here is sound quality. Amazon says that it's got a much larger speaker inside and it's got a more powerful output, and you can really hear the difference. If you ask it simple things like, "Alexa what's the weather?" - Currently, in Seattle, it's 57 degrees fahrenheit with cloudy skies. You can expect more of the same today, with a high of 63 degrees and a low of- - So, even like voice responses like that sound so much better on this Echo Dot than the prior one. And of course if you're listening to music it sounds even better than that. So, I can do something like... Alexa, play Drake. - Shuffling songs by Drake on Amazon music. (Drake song) - So, it sounds a lot better, that's obvious. Alexa, stop.

But the other thing is that you're not losing anything from this Echo Dot to the- if you're upgrading from the old one. You still have the ability to output even larger speakers with a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. You can still bluetooth pair this to a bigger speaker if you want. Now, it's got four microphones instead of the seven that the old model had. Which might make a difference in how well it's able to hear you from across the room. But we've seen a bunch of products that- like the Google home that only have two microphones- that are able to hear you pretty well. So, that's probably too much, not too much of a concern. And then of course, now if you really want to go nuts with your sound, you can pair two of these in a stereo set up, and you can have twice as much sound with left and right channels, and you can add the new Echo subwoofer to them, so you can have an actual 2.1 surround sound, or 2.1 sound system with just a couple of Echo Dots. Now, just like the Echo Show, this is going to be available for pre-order today, going to be shipping next month, it's $49.99 so it's the same price as before. This is looking pretty cool. So, and then the third new Echo product that Amazon is coming out with, is a new Echo Plus. Now, this is an update to the Echo Plus that was released last year. The most obvious thing different with it- it's got a new design, it's squatter, it's more rounded, it kind of looks like the standard Echo now, it's got this nice fabric cover. But, importantly it also has much improved sound. It's got a larger, more powerful speaker in there, so it provides better volume and base out of the unit itself. Just like the other Echo Dot and the other Echo devices, you can pair two of these together in stereo now, and you can add the Echo sub. Now, because this is an Echo Plus, it still has the smart home integration into it. So, it ships with a light bulb that you can instantly set up just with your voice, which is really easy and cool. And then it also has a temperature sensor inside of it, so you can read the temperature of an exact room. Alexa, what's the temperature in here? - Inside, it's 67.6. - And you can also set Alexa routines based on the temperature, so if it gets too cold you can kick on a space heater, or if it's too hot turn on an air conditioner- something like that. Now, the new Echo Plus is going to be available for $149.99. It's available to order today. Shipping next month, just like all the rest of the products. And it looks like a pretty decent upgrade to the existing Echo Plus. You've heard me talk a lot about the Echo Sub with these other products, and here it is. This is the Echo Sub, and you can pair this with any Echo device whether it's a Dot, or an Echo Plus, or an Echo Show, and you can add better, lower frequencies response. It's a pretty big device, obviously something you keep on the floor. It sells for $129.99. You can order it starting today. It will be shipping next month. That's not the only home audio products that Amazon is out. There's actually a bunch more, especially if you have existing home stereo equipment and speakers. And here we've got the Echo Link amp, the Echo Link, and the Echo Input. Now, the Echo Link Amp is ideal if you have non-powered passive speakers. You can plug them into the back here. And then it has a 60 watt, class D amplifier inside of it, so you can integrate those speakers with your whole home audio smart system. The Echo Link is pretty simple. It just is basically the same thing without the amplifier. This sells for $299. This sells for $199. And then the Echo Input, which is basically like very similar to the Chrome Cast Audio from Google. You plug it directly into your sound system. This does have microphones on it, so you can add voice control directly to that. It's kind of little big similar idea to how a lot of people use the Echo Dot now, but in a smaller package, and that's available for $34.99. (upbeat music) Did we get it? Alright. So, that was a ton of stuff, but it's really only the tip of the ice berg of what Amazon has announced today. Thanks for reading.

2019 Acura RDX

Acura's third-generation RDX was 100=percent designed and assembled here in the United States, This compact SUV went from total bore to total score. Go America! From the exterior the RDX looks less boxy and kind of generic than its previous model. The longer sloping roofline, the character line that angles more dramatically upward across the car's body and its expressive front fascia all contribute to this mini ute's sportier look, but it's still classy and got elegance, even though this badge is as big as my head. Really Acura? The sporting theme carries into the interior with cues seemingly inspired by the cockpit of the NSX sports car. From the bucket seats, to the advanced tech, the trim materials in here are really plush. This open pore wood is incredibly appealing. The leather is soft. These details are really well thought out. The stitching is great. You know, the design in here is pretty minimal, but it all comes together so nicely it's really handsome. I prefer a touchscreen, but the RDX's control pad might be the next best thing. Instead of moving a cursor the pad act like a proxy for the screen. Pressing the upper left corner down here operates the left corner there. With a little practice the system is easy to use. The RDX features a push-button shifter that I like. With nothing mechanical connecting it with the transmission there is room for thoughtful storage space underneath the console. My purse actually fits down here so when a friend rides shotgun I don't have to contort to put it in the back. Speaking of the back, there's not a ton of legroom in the second row unless of course someone's sitting behind me and there's no recline function on the seat. It's not bad, but a little more would be nice. The RDX was built in the US of A so of course it has amazing trunk space, and it has a category leading 59-cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row. Its cavernous back here.Hello... Let's talk about my favorite part of the RDX. Actually, you know what, I'm gonna let you listen to it. The ELS Studio 3D premium audio system is standard in the two highest trim levels and it's insane. The 16 speakers are geniusly positioned. In Acuras press materials they call it an omni-directional high fidelity listening experience. I call it being wrapped in an ear blanket of awesomeness. The RDX now sports a direct-injection turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. For folks comparing at home that's more power than BMWs X3, the Audi Q5, Volvo XC6, and a similarly equipped Mercedes GLC. If you're gonna ditch a V6 for a four-cylinder engine you better make it a good one. Acura did. It's nice and torquey in the low range, and even if the shifts in the 10-speed automatic aren't lightning-fast there's still a really nice surge of power after every gear. Both sport and sport plus hold gears longer for more immediate acceleration. The steering sharpens, the throttle opens up and you can actually hear it in the exhaust note. I really like the way the RDX drives in sport mode and Acura thinks buyers will too since that's actually the default drive setting, not usual comfort mode. Both front-wheel drive and Acura Super-Handling all-wheel drive are available on all trim levels.

The front-wheel drive option gets a little bit better gas mileage, but it's negligible. Personally I'd pony up the extra, $2,000 for that improved traction and the great torque vectoring system Acura's employed Usually 70% of that all-wheel drive power is focused on the rear wheels, but in bursts up to 100% of it can be shifted to either the right or the left side. So, when you're going around turns it's super grippy. It's totally confidence-inspiring and really fun. Looks like Acura's NSX DNA didn't just make it into the interior. Another reason for all that fun is the RDX's rigid architecture, which uses high-performance structural adhesives to improve stability. That means, among other things, minimal body roll around corners. Okay one nitpick, I'm not into how grabby the brakes are. Not unlike me reading my YouTube comments, these are a tad sensitive. The Acura Watch suite of safety technologies comes with all four RDX trim levels and includes a collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist, along with a multi-angle rear-view camera and Apple CarPlay. Google hasn't figured out Acura's touchpad interface yet, so Android Auto isn't available until they do. The next level up is a technology trim which includes blind spot warning, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alerts, and two rear USB ports. Move up to the performance design A-Spec and get 20-inch wheels, dark aluminum exterior trim, and a sport steering wheel. And then there's the top-level advanced trim with a 10.5-inch head-up display, adaptive dampers, a heated leather steering wheel and rear seats, and surround view camera system. These cameras are getting so good I want someone to shoot a movie with one. For the base front-wheel drive model Acura is asking a little more than $38,000 including destination charges. For this advanced trim that we're driving here pricing tops out around $48,400 that's where some of the RDX's European competitors pricing starts. If you're looking for a value rich, luxury SUV that has real performance driving chops, elegant good looks, and it was built right here in Uncle Sam's backyard, well, I think the Acura RDX might be a very sporting choice.

Top 3 New Technology Future Inventions Gadgets Coming in 2018

the concept of a time machine What we have here is a space machine Instead of travelling backwards forward in time we can transport viewers from one space to another In virtually no time at all So I can now tell a story while at the same time transporting people through space You It's in our lives that we never want to lose and can't do without There's tile this simple little device that helps you find anything attach the tile to your things and finding them as easy Bring your wallet to find it wherever it's hiding or use the tile app to see where you left your car on a map If it's your phone that you're looking for press the button on any of your tiles and your phone will ring Even when unsilent, and if you lose your wallet And it isn't where you last had it Tile can still help you find It just ask to be notified when your wallet is found And when any user in tiles global network comes within range of your missing wallet? The tile app will notify you of its most recent location Tile the simple easy way to find the things that matter Get tile now and join the millions of tile users who find peace of mind every day tile find what matters All right so right off the bat, this is not something you would buy for sound quality but rather for showcase a conversation piece the wow factor Which I think it's best suitable for office, or desk environments when a product looks this fancy nine times out of ten That's its strongest selling point in fact. There's not so much detail about the speaker's specs itself Besides the fact that it's only five watts, which that alone says a lot But despite that I think for what it is. It still sounds pretty decent The speaker itself looks kind of like a pokeball if you've ever watched a cartoon Pokemon. You know what I'm talking about it has a little weight to it, and that's largely due to the huge magnet on the bottom half of the device I Really like the blue LED accents like the ring that glows around It which is one of the first things that attracted me to it Your speaker grilles run across the top with the actual speaker itself visible on the inside on the body you have a microUSB port for charging that sits right in between a power button and a Bluetooth button and By charging you can use it as a standalone speaker and do away with the base if you choose to do so of course The base is just an accessory the speaker even comes with a carrying pouch But this thing sheds fabric like crazy and I will not be using this pouch to power it on you press and hold the power button and The same goes for the Bluetooth button But if you want to manually pair it up Despite the speaker looking as if it came out of a Star Wars movie It gets pretty darn loud, but not much bass comes out this guy.

I mean don't get me wrong There's more thumps here and there like when listening to hip-hop for example you hear the beats, but it's definitely not impressive So music lovers like me They do advertise that you get a sort of 3d surround sound effect when the speaker is spinning, but I Didn't hear any difference Alright, so let's get to the fun part the actual levitation the magnetic base has a brushed aluminum surface That's sort of satisfying to the touch if you ask me it features four blue decorative LEDs that light up when it's plugged in But these LEDs are also used as a guide to help you align it properly With the center being the sweet spot when all four LEDs are solid it begins to suspend in the air. Thanks to its powerful Magnet technology when it's levitating the momentum of the magnets allow it to spin on its own And it just looks and mesmerizing. I can't stress it enough But you do have to play with it a little to get it there in the first place Because the magnets on the base are really really really strong it basically snatches the speaker out of your hand It actually scared me because when you powered the base off the speaker's snaps back to the surface with a tremendous amount of force It's a little frustrating to handle. It's like a game to get it right it takes practice, but I Found that it's best to use two hands when aligning it now I can see where the strong magnets are necessary to achieve such an effect But it's something that concerns me because I can't help but feel that the base will eventually get damaged over time Given the amount of force that consistently hits it so I have something I'll have to look out for now What is pretty sweet though? Is that the speaker itself is equipped with NFC right up top Center on the blue LED? So that's a huge plus when it comes to ease of pairing and one that I'm quite happy about You also get a kind of turn one product here as the magnetic base is also a charging station with a USB 2.0 Port now as far as battery is concerned It's a 1500 milliamp hour battery, and it's advertised for around 10 hours of playback time And I'm here to say that it actually performs close to it I got an average of around 8 hours of use at a pretty decent volume. Just a little bit more than halfway Speaking of volume, I wish there were some volume buttons on the speaker itself That's something. I would have really liked to see there's also no speakerphone capabilities, which I think would have been useful as well Overall it's a really impressive setup, and I'm always fond of futuristic style technology I think they nailed this effect, and I do hope to see more mainstream speakers from top manufacturers use this technology I think that'll be interesting too.

Best Fitting T-Shirt On Amazon? | 7 Brands Compared

This is an easy stylish classic when it's done right. But when it's not, it he can leave you looking pretty average. There are tonnes of different T-shirts to choose from, some of which look great and others of which look terrible. And I thought for this video I'll save you the hard work of looking. I've teamed up with Amazon for this video and they've sent me a load of different T-shirts. I'll be trying and testing all of the different brands out to see which ones are actually worth your money. Which ones fit the best, which ones are the better quality and of course which are the most stylish over all. I'm your test dummy for this video. Either way you're gonna find the best T-shirt out of all these as well as all the rest of the ones I've tried listed and linked in the description. Before I judge these shirts and test them out for you, we need to define you know what makes a good T-shirt. What am I going to be looking for that puts one of these shirts above the rest? Okay, there are a couple of key factors really for me. The first one being, the neck has got to fit relatively well. I don't want it super tight where it's choking me out although it's quite rare to find one that's like that. But also I don't want one that's plunging really deep, that's showing off my man boobs. Secondly, the sleeves need to fit really well. This is one of, if not, the most important thing when it comes to choosing a good looking t-shirt. Take this T-shirt here for instance. Whatever you think of the design, the fit through the torso is pretty good. It's not super tight but it's not really loose. But on the sleeves you've got the dreaded triangle, the bit right at the edge of the sleeve where it spears out to the side because the arm opening is too big. And you're gonna find this same problem in about 80% or 90% percent of T-shirts. These have just been made like this just so that as many guys as physically possible can fit inside the T-shirt. It doesn't look tailored to your body and it makes it like you're wearing a size that might be too big and obviously it's got to fit well through the torso. I'm not really looking for a super tight muscle fit one because I don't have the body for it. I want one that's may be a little bit snug through the chest and then a little bit baggier through the rest of the torso below. Because of those last two factors, all the T-shirts that you're gonna be seeing in this video features some sort of stretch. So they've got form of elastane or something similar within the construction. And you'll also see that each of the T-shirts in this video are crewneck because for me with my body it just tends to look better than the V-neck. But I'm sure there's a V-neck version of each of these available anyway, so it doesn't matter. also you'll notice for each of these T-shirts I've tried to choose different colours for each so that you don't get them mixed up with each other. But they are available in other colours other than the ones I'm wearing in this video. And first we're going to focus on the one that I'm wearing right now. Let's take a look at the Calvin Klein T-shirt. Okay, here's the Calvin Klein crew neck T-shirt with 95% cotton and 5% elastane. These are sold in packs of two and come in a price point of about 31 pounds. So you look in on average just under 16 quid per T-shirt. It is kind of frustrating that this is only available in a two pack. But overall anyway, how does it look? In terms of overall fit, I'd say that this is okay.

The fit across the chest and through the torso is very, very good. Especially compared to some other options that you'll see later in this video. You have the stretch there so it's contoured to my torso but it's not super spray-on tight. Looking at the sleeves I'd say this the sleeves are okay. In terms of length down the arm I think these aren't bad at all. I actually prefer these that's set almost banging the middle of the upper arm. Unfortunately, the actual armhole opening at the end that seems to be relatively big compared to some of the others in this video. There doesn't seem to be a great deal of stretch in this area which is frustrating. The neck area however because it's made of a slightly more solid type of material here tends to retain its shape a bit better from what I found. It's about the right size, definitely not too deep, pretty good so far. But unfortunately as you may have noticed from looking at me in this video, you can see the wire of my microphone underneath the T-shirt and that's because the material is too thin. In certain angles especially in sunlight you can just see straight through to my nipples. With a brand of this name and this sort of price I would expect more. This just kind of reminds me of the appearance of like a lower quality undershirt. Overall the Calvin Klein one is okay but it's definitely not the best one on this list. Next we move on to this navy T-shirt from Jack & Jones. Now you'll notice an immediate difference with this one compared to the last one. You can tell straight away that this is a lot tighter than the Calvin Klein one. This just advertises as their basic tee, yet to me this looks like a muscle fit one. And I'm normally a size medium, that last one was a size medium, this one looks like I'm wearing a small. The shoulders on this are so narrow that they're sitting way higher up than they should be. And through the body it's almost spray-on tight which is evident by the horizontal pull lines you can see going across all the way down. And bearing in mind I'm somewhere between about five foot nine to five foot 10 and weigh nearly bang on average for my height, there's no way that I should have to be considering going up to a size large. Never in my life have I been close to a size larger than anything. But for this brand in particular if you wanted to get one of these I recommend going a size above what you normally have. Also many comes to the neck here you can see it's even quite big around the neck, almost as if it's like an inch too big around there. This one does come in at a lot cheaper price about eight pounds, so almost half the price of the Calvin Klein but I'm not sure if the actual fit is worth it. The material itself feels nice and stretchy and high-quality. It's definitely better quality material than the Calvin Klein one. This one however is 8% elastane. I don't know if that's what's made all the difference here but it's certainly not my favourite shirt. Now it's time to get stripy with this one from Scotch & Soda. Coming in at a price of around 31 pounds, this is definitely one of the more expensive ones in this video. So does it deliver when it comes to the fit and the quality? Really I'd say that this is essentially a better version of the Calvin Klein one. Again this one has the 95% cotton to the 5% elastane. But the shirt itself isn't quite as see-through and then the rest of the fit is almost identical. Around the neck again it's okay. I maybe like if it was a tiny bit smaller for me. But compared to a lot of them I'd say it's pretty good. The shoulders are sitting right, much better than the Jack & Jones one. And the sleeves as a whole are okay. It fits a lot tighter than your regular shirt, like the one that I showed you at the start of the video. But I can already see after a couple of wears that it is starting to just stick out a tiny bit or maybe it's just telling me I need to get to the gym. Through the torso this one fits pretty much spot-on. For this one in general I honestly don't have too many complaints. However, it does sit at that higher price point. Will it be worth it by the end of the video? We'll see. For the next two coming up, we've got two options from another well known brands Tommy Hilfiger. Now I decided to buy two here because they had two separate listings for something that look very similar so I wanted to see if they actually were the same thing. So got this one in blue and then another one in white. And it turns out the two are slightly different. The blue one here is made up of 96% cotton and 4% elastane. I'd say that the fit of this one is still very good. Around the neck area in particular I really like the way that this one sits. It's a tiny bit higher good if you've got quite a thin neck and collarbone area. Also this one along with the white one are possibly the most comfortable ones I think on this list in terms of the way that the material feels also doesn't seem to crease very easily which is good. The shoulder area and torso are I'd say pretty much bang on. Only small gripe I had with this blue one, is that the sleeves, for me, I think the sleeves are a little bit too short. It's not far off, it's not bad, it still retains the stretch better than some of the other options, but I'd like if it was just a centimetre or so further down the arm. With the white one there was a couple of small differences. The neck area I'd say exactly the same, it fits really well and through the body it's nice and well fitted without being super tight. But you'll notice that the balance of materials is slightly different. According to the label this is the 95 to five ratio instead. Both of these options come in at a higher price of around 35 pounds. And I don't know whether it's down to just the colour but this one you can see through it a little bit. It's certainly not as bad as the Calvin Klein one where you can just straight up see through. But I don't know if it's due to having a slightly different material.

But what I do like with a white one is that the sleeves make up for it. Because the sleeves on this one for whatever reason are slightly longer than the previous blue one. It definitely sits further down on the arm. Not super tight. I maybe like if it was a tiny bit tighter but overall I'd say that this is a very good fit as a whole. Next, we move to the other end of the spectrum with this green T-shirt from Urban Classic. From the 30 pound area down to just 11 pounds at the moment. And overall I'm really impressed with this one. I get the thing that I don't like out of the way first. I think that the neck area is definitely a bit on the big side. I'd like it if it was an inch or so small around the neck. But other than that I think for 11 pounds this is a really good option. Shoulders are spot on. And then down through the torso this one I think fits me really well. I'd say equally as well as a Scotch & Soda or the Hilfiger ones. Both of which like three times the price. And this is one of, if not the best set of sleeves I think of any of the ones I'm trying today. It's not too short, it comes down to a really nice mid bicep level. And around the area it still retains a lot of tightness which is great. The length is fine as is with all of them here. Nice high arm holes. I think that this overall 11 quid is really good value for money. And you still get the same sort of materials that you get with some of these other more expensive ones, the 95% cotton to 5% elastane. This one seems like a really good choice if you're on a budget. And the final two one here are two different black T-shirts. The first one being this one from Only & Sons. And this one is a bit like the Jack & Jones one, in the sense that it looks like someone has just sprayed it on with a paint can. This one advertises as a slim fit but unless you're skeletal I'd say that this is like just your typical spray on muscle fit. Once more this is another one unless you want the really tight body conforming fit overall, I probably say go up a size. But if you are a fan of that really tight muscle fit then this is definitely better than the Jack & Jones one. It's only a few pence more, I think it's like 30 pence more at the time of filming this. It's the same 95% cotton to 5% elastane but in terms of the way it fits in certain areas I think it's a bit better. The neck in particular it's a lot more conformed to the neck area, it's not super big. The sleeves are arguably perfect in terms of the way that they fit. Now through the torso it's just really tight like for Jack & Jones one but the material feels like maybe a slightly better quality material. So if this is the type you want, I'd say go for this one. Or maybe if you're a guy that's really thin then this might be the brand to choose. They just need to change it to advertised as a muscle fit and then they'll be sorted. And we finished this little rundown by looking at this black T-shirt from Garage. Again this is another brand I'm not really familiar with but this comes in a pretty competitive 12 pound 50 ish. And would you know? 95% cotton, 5% elastane. This one again it's more on the tighter side I'd say but it isn't as tight as the one that we've just looked at and the one earlier from Jack & Jones. Once more I think this is a slightly better option the Jack & Jones one. It's a bit better around the neck area, also it seems pretty good around the sleeves too. For me, it is a little bit tight through the chest and through the torso but the shoulders are decent and the material feels pretty good quality. So which is my favourite overall? Which one would I pick out of all these different options? This one's actually being quite a tricky decision for me to make. Because several of them on this list actually fitted me really nicely and I think that's the benefits of going for one of these ones that's got the elastane in. You're not left with tonnes of baggy material or the spearing triangle on the side. If I could only choose one it would be just about the white Tommy Hilfiger one or at least that range. For me this is probably the most comfortable one to wear. It looks quite stylish as a whole in terms of the shape of it, not including the logo. If it's well all over, so the sleeves pretty good, the next decent and then through the torso is good as well. The Scotch & Soda one actually surprised me with how good that one was as well. I just think that's the cuts of this one looks slightly better on me, not by much. In terms of budget options though I think that the Urban Classics one is an absolute bargain at that sort of price for the type of material that you're getting. Things really good quality and good value. Also for me the Garage one wasn't far off and that's at a lower price. Thanks for reading.

History of the Apple Processor

Today we’re going to explore the history of Apple processors. There are four different series which power devices from the iPhone to the Apple TV, and may one day power your next MacBook, but we’ll talk about that later. This topic was the winner of last weeks voting poll and if you didn’t get to vote, make sure you’re subscribed, that way the voting polls will show up right in your activity feed and you can let me know which article you’d like to see next. Now before we get started I want to thank X-VPN for sponsoring this article.. If you guys don’t already use a VPN, now is a good time to start since you can download X-VPN for free on your mobile device, but I recommend paying the low $5.99 monthly fee for their premium service since you’ll get VPN support on up to 10 devices, whether they’re mobile devices or desktop computers. And what does X-VPN do exactly? Well it gives you complete anonymity on the web which eliminates vulnerabilities on open wifi networks and prevents your internet activity from being monitored by ISPs or government agencies. You’ll also have access to fast VPN servers in 25 different countries which means your favorite shows on Netflix or Hulu won’t be geo-blocked while traveling abroad. Also, X-VPN will unblock websites that are restricted at your school or workplace, which is one of my favorite features. So I highly recommend you give X-VPN a try today by clicking the link in the description. So most of us know that Apple’s a company who embraces proprietary technology. While other companies outsource, Apple keeps things in-house whenever possible, and the chips found in iOS devices are no exception. While Samsung, Microsoft, and HTC rely on Qualcomm and Intel for chipsets, Apple has its own team of engineers to work on proprietary designs exclusive to their devices. And it all started in 2008 when Apple purchased a small semiconductor company called P.A. Semi for a rumored $278 million in cash. Well, it technically started a little earlier than that. Because prior to the introduction of the Apple "A" series chipset, Apple designed several system-on-a-chips in early versions of the iPhone and iPod touch that were manufactured by Samsung. These chipsets integrated a single ARM-based processing core or CPU, a graphics processing unit or GPU, and other electronics necessary to provide mobile computing functions inside a single package. The first of these system-on-a-chips was used in the first iPhone in 2007. It was called the APL0098 and included a 412 MHz single-core ARM11 CPU and a PowerVR MBX Lite GPU on a 90 nm process. Now that probably sounded like a bunch of mumbo-jumbo, but this technology is what enabled mobile devices to become powerful pocket computers that we can’t live without today. This chipset received three upgrades, the first was at the end of 2008 which included a faster 533 MHz CPU which was used by the second gen iPod Touch.

The second in mid 2009 which again saw its CPU upgraded, but this time to 600 MHz which was included in the iPhone 3GS. And the final upgrade of this series took place at the end of 2009 and featured a smaller footprint in order to fit inside the slim third-generation iPod touch. Now we can talk about the more popular series of processors that Apple has featured in their recent devices. And they’re the A series, S series, W series, and T series. Now you might be wondering why Apple developed four separate chipsets, and it’s because Apple’s different devices have different needs. Let’s start with the A series. The Apple A4 was based on the ARM processor architecture and contained an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU core paired with a PowerVR SGX 535 graphics processor built on Samsung's 45-nanometer silicon. Although it delivered a clock speed of 1GHz for the first gen iPad, this speed was reduced to 800 MHz when used in the iPhone 4 and fourth-gen iPod touch, likely to save battery life. And this A4 chipset was also included in the Apple TV, but its clock speed was never revealed by Apple. In March 2011, Apple revealed the updated A5 chipset with the release of the iPad 2. Followed by its inclusion in the iPhone 4s later that year. Apple claimed that the A5’s updated CPU "could do twice the work" and its GPU had "up to nine times the graphics performance.” This huge jump in performance was mainly because of the dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU with ARM's advanced SIMD extension, marketed as NEON. And a dual core PowerVR GPU which could push between 70 to 80 million polygons a second. Apple clocked the A5 at 1 GHz on the iPad 2, though it could dynamically adjust its frequency to save battery life. Its clock speed on the iPhone 4S was 800 MHz and like the A4, the A5 process size was 45 nm, which meant its physical size didn’t change. But later in 2011 Apple did shrink the A5 chipset with an updated 32 nanometer version. Not only was it smaller, but it was about 20% more power efficient too. And while those improvements were much appreciated, the update to Apple’s A5X chipset was even better. Announced on March 7, 2012, with the launch of the third generation iPad, the A5X was essentially a high performance variant of the A5 since it had twice the graphics power made possible by a quad-core graphics unit instead of the previous dual-core. It also had a quad-channel memory controller that provided about three times more memory bandwidth than the A5. But these additional graphics cores and memory channels meant the silicon process size increased to 45 nanometers. It would shrink back down to 32 nanometers a year later though with the Apple A6 in 2012. It launched with the iPhone 5 and featured twice the speed and graphics power compared to its predecessor. It was 22% smaller and used less power, which helped improve the iPhone’s battery life. The A6 was the first Apple chipset to use a custom Apple-designed CPU which was clocked at 1.3 GHz and used an ARMv7 based dual-core CPU, called Swift, rather than a licensed CPU from ARM like in previous designs. The next chipset update came later that year, near the end of 2012 and it was called the Apple A6X as you might’ve guessed. It was introduced with the fourth generation iPad and it had twice the CPU performance and up to twice the graphics performance of its predecessor. It continued to use the custom dual-core Swift CPU, but it had a new quad core GPU, quad channel memory and slightly higher 1.4 GHz CPU clock rate. About a year later the Apple A7 chipset made its appearance alongside the iPhone 5S, which was introduced in September, 2013. Again, the newly upgraded chipset was up to twice as fast and had up to twice the graphics power compared to its predecessor. Perhaps you’re beginning to see a pattern here. But something special about the A7 is that it was the first chipset to feature a 64-bit CPU instead of the usual 32-bit. This meant the processor could handle more data at once, making the device it powered much more capable. And another year brought with it another chipset upgrade, this time to the Apple A8 which debuted in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in 2014.

The A8 featured 25% more CPU performance and 50% more graphics performance than the A7, all while using half as much power. The A8 also had twice the amount of transistors as the A7 but was 13% smaller. And although this chipset was released in 2014, Apple used it in their 2018 HomePod, which says a lot about how capable and powerful this chipset really is. The Apple A8X was introduced with the iPad Air 2 near the end of 2014, and it had 40% more CPU performance and two and a half times the graphics performance of its predecessor. Unlike the A8, this chipset used a triple-core CPU, a new octa-core GPU, dual channel memory, and a slightly higher 1.5 GHz CPU clock rate. It was also manufactured by TSMC instead of Samsung and featured 3 billion transistors on a smaller 20 nanometer process. In 2015 the Apple A9 chipset was released with the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus and it achieved 70% more CPU performance and 90% more graphics performance compared to the A8. It was also the first of Apple’s chipsets to be manufactured by both Samsung and TSMC, and this caused some controversy. You see, users ran benchmark tests to compare performance of the Samsung chipset versus TSMC and found the Samsung chipset delivered much lower battery life. But Apple said these benchmark tests weren’t representative of real-world usage, so several tech sites conducted their own real-world tests and found the gap between Samsung and TSMC phones did indeed close. Now the following year TSMC served as Apple’s sole manufacturer of their A9X chipset. And this shift away from reliance on Samsung was likely due to the legal battle taking place between the two companies. The Apple A9X first appeared in the iPad Pro in 2015 and offered 80% more CPU performance and two times the GPU performance of the A8X. And in 2016 the Apple A10 Fusion chipset was introduced with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The reason why it was called “fusion” was because it had a new quad core design that fused together two high performance cores with two high efficiency cores. That way the device received extra power while under heavy workloads, but could save battery life when the additional processing power wasn’t needed. This fusion chipset was upgraded in 2017 and became Apple A10X Fusion. It first appeared in the 10.5" iPad Pro and had 30 percent faster CPU performance and 40 percent faster GPU performance than its predecessor. This was also the chipset used to power the 4K Apple TV released on September 12, 2017. And near the end of 2017 Apple introduced the A11 Bionic chipset which appeared in the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X. It had two high-performance cores which were 25% faster and four high-efficiency cores which were 70% faster than the A10 Fusion chipset. So that’s where the A series stands today, and now let’s move on to the S series which are the chipsets used in the Apple Watch. They have a customized application processor that integrates memory, storage, wireless connectivity, sensors and I/O into a single package. And it all began with the first Apple Watch in 2014. Its single-core Apple S1 chipset may not have been the most powerful, but it was quite a feat of engineering to combine so many electronics into one package.

Now the S series received its first power boost in 2016 with the Apple S1P and the Apple S2. Both chipsets were upgraded to dual-core processors which made them twice as powerful, but only the S2 variant featured a built-in GPS receiver. And finally, in 2017, the Apple S3 chipset was introduced with the Apple Watch Series 3. This upgrade featured a dual-core processor that was 70% faster than the S2 and had an optional cellular modem for LTE support. So that’s a rundown of the Apple Watch’s S series chipset, and that means we have two more left to cover: the W series and T series, both of which have two versions. So the W series was initially created for Apple’s AirPods, giving them stronger and faster bluetooth connectivity than its competition. But the second version in this series, the W2, was created for the Apple Watch Series 3. It gave the Apple Watch 50% more power efficient bluetooth and wifi as well as allowing for 85% faster wifi speeds. It’s hard to predict how Apple will use future versions of the W series chipsets since it is so versatile and can be integrated into almost any device. Now let’s talk about the T series. The Apple T1 was created as a driver for the Touch ID sensor in the MacBook Pros. It operated as a secure enclave for the processing and encryption of fingerprints as well protecting the microphone and FaceTime HD camera from being hacked. But the T2 chipset served as a secure enclave for the iMac Pro. It allowed for encrypted keys, the ability to lock down the computer's boot process, handled system functions like camera and audio control, managed the solid-state drive, and delivered "enhanced imaging processing" for the iMac Pro's FaceTime HD camera. Now you may have noticed that virtually every Apple product features a custom Apple-designed chipset, except for their Mac computers, but rumors suggest that may be changing. According to a Bloomberg report, Apple plans to replace Mac Intel chips with its own custom chipset as early as 2020. This move would make quite a bit of sense, Apple has been investing heavily in custom silicon since the original iPhone, and including their own chips in their own computers seems like a step in the right direction for Apple.Thanking for reading.

A Minimalist Approach to Personal Finance

For most of my life I wasn't very good with money I made it and I spent it the money came in and out and since nearly eight out of ten Americans live paycheck to paycheck I'm guessing that's something that you can relate to as well after four years of college I left with a degree in mass communications and 97 thousand dollars in student loan debt. Then I bought a brand new car I told you I wasn't very good with money. There was something holding me back from even looking at my personal finances It had become a joke. I owe him some money What kind of money I had dug myself into a hole so deep it didn't even seem possible That I'd ever get out the crazy part all that debt wasn't stopping me from spending after I got the new car I added a new TV Computer and even a leather jacket to my running tab that leather jacket was pretty cool though soon after college, though I came to the realization that I needed to make a change that I couldn't just pretend like I wasn't in massive trouble It was one of the most challenging things that I've ever done in my entire life But over the course of 4 years I was able to pay off every single student loan even that car payment and that's what I want to talk about today Money our problems with it and how minimalism has helped me there's a basic formula to win at personal finance and It's this. Spend less money than you make In practice though It's not that easy money seems to completely slip through our fingers no matter how much money we make our bank account seems to have a Completely different agenda. One of the reasons that we're bad with money is because money is taboo.

We can't even talk about it with coworkers with family members without people feeling judged or downright Offended we can only improve if we start to have honest conversations About money we need to remove our egos and actually try to learn. One of the best ways that I've found To learn about personal finance is through books and I'll give three recommendations Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover Ramita Sadie's I will teach to be rich and Tony Robbins Unshakable, all three of these books lay out great advice trusted advice that has worked and I think that you'll find a lot of value from them Don't fall into the trap of lifestyle creep Whenever we get a pay raise or we start to make a little bit more money We land a really big project. The first thing that we want to do is Upgrade our apartment buy a better car Increase our lifestyle. So then that way we're in some way rewarding this win But if we were instead to be more mindful about our spending if we were to keep our lifestyle in check and not Inflate it as our income rises. 5, 10 years down the road we're gonna be able to live a lot more comfortably and we're gonna have so much more security than if we continue to increase our Lifestyle every year, let's be honest. We buy a ton of shit and we convince ourselves in a lot of sneaky ways Why we deserve it. I mean I like shopping Is there anything so wrong with that not all advertising is bad but a lot of it is Driven to make us feel as if we deserve the indulgence you've worked so hard you deserve this handbag these sneakers or this watch and The truth of the matter is that what you deserve is to be debt-free? You deserve not living paycheck to paycheck we face pressure from social media keeping up with the Joneses or the Kardashians is a very real thing and if we're not Curating and mindful of our news feeds and our social media feeds it can be Very tempting to want to keep up and have the things that everybody else have otherwise, we'll have the fear of missing out But here's the thing rich people are rich because they make smart decisions With their money, they don't go out and lease a brand new BMW They don't rent an apartment that they can't afford and the last type of pressure that we face is pressure from ourselves

There's this thing called the myth of 'I don't have' and it's something that we tell ourselves To convince us that we need to go out and buy that thing So as a filmmaker, you might say I really want to make that film or that video but I don't have this lens or I don't have this camera so I can't do it or I can't go out for that run or that jog I can't start my new workout routine because I don't have that pair of sneakers but really the only thing that's doing is procrastinating us from getting started with our goals and our dreams and It's convincing us that buying that extra thing is gonna solve everything which it won't you need to make sacrifices when I graduated college Within 3 months I decided to move home with my parents and I lived in my parents basement Literally in the basement for two years. I didn't date much didn't spend much I didn't go out much because I knew that I had to make some sacrifices To get to a point when I could start to take risks You have to be completely clear with why you're doing this in the first place. Why do you want to be debt-free? Why do you want to have? Financial freedom when we truly understand why we don't want to be living paycheck to paycheck Why we would want to be debt-free Everything else comes a little bit easier when We think about having the security and safety being able to take care of our family and our friends if they run into trouble It becomes more obvious Why this is so important you're able then to take more risks to challenge yourself. Put your push yourself outside of your comfort zone In ways that you otherwise wouldn't be able to I know for myself if I wasn't debt-free, I Wouldn't be where I am today. If I didn't take in that first step and realize that I had a problem I wouldn't have had that domino effect that led me to where I am to be able to take pretty ambitious and risky decisions to move across the country to Leave my business and start a complete new one these aren't easy decisions and when you have debt It's gonna be that much more difficult and that less likely that you're gonna succeed The strategy couldn't be more simple spend less money than you make but as you know We face a lot of pressure to do the exact opposite But if you can out maneuver these forces, if you can build a healthy relationship with money, and create positive habits that stick You will be able to become financially free Thanks so much for reading. What strategies tips tools and books have helped you on your own Personal finance journey what things have helped you to chip away and even get out of debt? I'd love to hear about your success stories as well as a part of that conversation opening up the dialogue about money I think we should be encouraging each other and Really rewarding each other for making positive steps in our lives try not to feel threatened or discouraged if other people have a great success story see it as Potential in yourself if somebody is able to get out of debt. That means that you probably can too. Thank you for reading.

Medigap Insurance 2018 Which Medicare Supplement Plan is Best?

I wanted to talk a little about Medicare today. Medicare Supplements, which plan is best? Plan F or plan G? Will kind of go through that a little bit, but understand comparing your plans, whatever plan you're on today, it could save you up to 30% on your Medicare supplement. But two things that you need to know when comparing your plan. So two real good tips one- the first one that's real important. Once you have understanding and this really, makes this process a whole lot simpler. But the first tip is making sure that you understand out of the Medicare & You book that everybody gets sent out. If you turn to page 81 this is real important and I'll read this right out of the book. It talks about every Medigap policy must follow Federal and State laws designed to protect you and must clearly identify itself as a Medicare Supplement. Here's the key. Insurance companies can only sell a standardized policy identified by letters A through N. All policies offer the same basic benefits. So what that's telling you -if you have a current Medicare Supplement- if it has one of those letters Plan A through N. If you look at another plan as long as you look and follow that letter code system, you are not going to lose coverage. And it really gives you a real good idea that all plans are treated equally. So that's something again like I say right out of the Medicare & You book and real simple again page 81 makes real clear that how these plans are treated, and they are all the same. The second tip that I have is to follow up on that and really is take a look at this chart and go into a little more detail on what plan is the best, in my opinion. We'll look at the chart here, and as you can see in the chart that's displayed here that shows Plan A through N, just like I mentioned and the two most popular plans that we see and we work with customers on a daily basis reviewing their Medicare plan Are in the middle and that is Plan F and Plan G. Plan F has been long-standing and that that's been the the go-to if you will, policy. As you can see from the chart that goes all the way down through the the list of things that it covers and that Plan F is the most comprehensive medicare supplement you can buy. Because that covers everything that a Medicare supplement has to offer. So like I say that's been the long-standing policy that's been going on We're seeing a lot of interest in the Plan G, which is just to the right of that. and really the only difference between the two are with the Plan G. you would have to pay the Medicare Part B deductible and that deductible for 2018 is a hundred and eighty three dollars. So that's really your only out-of-pocket. So folks that are on a Plan F and they're they're overpaying on that and want to look at other options. In my opinion the Plan G is a great alternative for two reasons. The plan G offers a lower monthly premium of course but when you add a deductible on to a plan, even when it's a minimum deductible $183 that brings your cost down initially not only now, but to the insurance company it's going to have less claims when you don't have a first dollar coverage plan we're seeing lower increases on those plans than we are for example with the Plan F. So that's the first reason that I feel the plan G is a better alternative. Secondly, by 2020- so within a year and a half- all of the Plan Fs are going to go away and really Plan G is gonna take its place.

So that's something that Congress passed legislation that no company will be able to offer Plan F beginning in 2020. So with that in mind we're talking about the plan G a lot just because what we've seen with insurance companies in the past, once they stopped writing a particular plan for example when they stopped writing the Plan F, I would anticipate that that those rates are gonna increase substantially on any existing Plan F that's out there beyond 2020. Because that's going to be a closed group and typically the closed group plans go up substantially after that date kind of sunset. So all the more to look at a Plan G. Not only for the value now, but anticipation for what's happening in 2020. So we're seeing again a lot of interest in the Plan G, so that's why I feel, it's a good thing to look, at in my opinion one of the best plans that that you can take a look at today. And when you compare the plan we talked about before- even if you whether you go with the F for the G by simply comparing your plan I mean you can possibly save up to 30% on your existing rate. Here's just I jotted down a few examples of customers that we just worked with in the last couple weeks. These are sample cases where people that we worked with had an existing plan, reached out to us through a website or some type of Ad that we're running whether it's your Facebook, YouTube Any of those other sources that we use. Here's a couple that in Wisconsin they were paying five hundred sixty one dollars a month. We got their premium down to two ninety three. So that saved him a total of two hundred and sixty eight dollars a month. Here was a couple in Wyoming they were paying $400 a month we got their premium monthly rate down to 244. It saved him a hundred and fifty six dollars a month. Here was an individual James, who just worked with not too long ago. He was paying $300 a month just for himself. We got his monthly rate down to 170 so that saved him $130 a month. Here was a couple that I personally worked with, Neil and Nadeen in North Dakota. They were paying five hundred and sixty dollars a month for the two of them. We got them the same plan got the rate down to 293 a month saved him two hundred and sixty-seven dollars a month. I mean, that's a huge savings when you start adding that back into their income. That's cash that's freed up to them immediately. They were ecstatic! And here was another individual in Arkansas. He was paying 226 a month got his rate down to 159, saved him to sixty-seven dollars a month. Or Carol in Nebraska, who I worked with. She was paying 251 got a rate down to 144 so was it saved a little over a hundred bucks a month. So again, those are the kind of savings that we're realizing for folks and again like I say, that's instant cash that's put back in their pocket or their budget, that they can add right back in automatically. So simply by comparing your plan you can see some of these benefits that some of these folks are are realizing instantly. Thanks for reading.

Apple iPhone 7

First Impression is that it looks extremely similar to the 6 and 6s. The only easy way of telling if you have the newer model is if you have one of the two black versions of the phone. There are some subtler differences between the 7 and the 6s, the antenna lines now hug the edge of the phone, it has an even larger camera hump and you can look at the bottom, RIP headphone jack. Overall it’s still a great design but it’s disappointing not having a bigger change. But cutting to the chase; that headphone jack, or lack thereof. Did Apple make the right decision? No. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, why remove a port that’s so universal? They have tried to minimise the impact. So in the box along with the lighting earpods they give you a 3.5mm to lightning adaptor. But it’s tiny and you know you’re going lose it. It means when you want to plug into AUX in the car you just can’t, unless you want loads of tiny adaptors everywhere. It’s a problem I found almost immediately when using the phone, I’d forget I didn’t have a headphone jack and try to plug in things to my phone, looking stupid when I realised I just can’t do it. Apple really want to push you to using wireless headphones like their airpods, but they’ve been delayed until 2017. On a more positive note, something I do think they got right is the new home button. It doesn’t feel like a button click, it’s more like the whole bottom chin of the phone moving. However the feedback it gives is excellent and the reliability of having a non-moving part means that unlike buttons on prior phones, they won’t break as easily. Something which is extremely annoying when locked into a two year contract on a phone that has a one year warranty. There is a rationale to having a solid state home button and removing the headphone jack, other than courage and that’s to make the phone water and dust resistance. So it can stay under 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. I’ve been testing it, gingerly at first, however after a while I realised that it is the real thing. This is something that Apple have been working on since the 6s, whose internals were good at resisting water. However, now they’ve sealed the openings of the phone, like the lightning port and the speakers. However, waterproofing the phone hasn’t had an effect on the media experience of the device, in fact it’s better than ever. The iPhone now has stereo sound for the first time, using the speaker at the top previously reserved for phone calls, as a front facing speaker. It’s not quite as good as the sound on the HTC M8 with those boomsound speakers, but it is a massive improvement. What makes this phone even better for consuming media is the new screen. So both the 7 and 7 plus feature new IPS screens that are 25% brighter and have a wider colour gamut than previous iPhone screens. It makes using your iPhone outdoors, that much easier, and the wider colour gamut really shines when looking at photos and video taken with the phone. They look more vibrant and colours come across a lot richer. Watching movies and TV looks gorgeous, the colours are accurate and the screen has great viewing angles. Sadly though, it still isn’t an OLED panel it’s an IPS panel. OLED screens allow you to turn off individual pixels so when you have something on screen that is black, those pixels turn off giving you a true black. Unlike what you get with an IPS panel like on the iPhone where the whole screen is always on. because that isn’t black. The displays still have 3D touch but now with iOS 10, they take advantage of this functionality a lot more. So with time more apps have come to support it with quick actions like before and swiping hard from the left side of the device allows quickly changing between apps. However now, with first party apps like weather, you can 3D touch into a widget for a quick view of the weather. Some third party apps take advantage of it too like the Google Maps app to give you travel times to home and work. There are other hidden features too, in notifications you can clear all notifications now with a hard press, instead of having to click x on every one. Hard pressing the torch in quick settings you can select how bright you want it, or use it to quickly set a timer. They’ve baked in a lot of new uses for it and the best way to find out new features, is to just press down hard on everything. The screens on both the 7 and the 7+ are still the same resolution as they were in the 6 and 6+, however I think adding more pixels isn’t really necessary for displays this size, even with the huge amounts of power that this thing is packing.

So what is at the heart of this new iPhone? The new A10 system on a chip and it is an absolute beast. It’s a new quad-core processer, with 2 high and 2 low performance cores. Allowing it to shift basic tasks to the much more power efficient low performance cores, without compromising when you need the speed with the full fat ones. Apple chips totally blow away the competition such as those from Samsung and Qualcom. In geekbench this translates to a score of 3449 in single core tasks and 5562 in multi core, it blows everything away on the android side, even the Google Pixel, a review which is coming soon, so if you want to see that, hit the subscribe button down below.  Flicking through the UI and multitasking is buttery smooth, even with only 2GB of ram. It’s so fast you can even close down apps before they open. The GPU has been beefed up as well, there aren’t many games that take advantage of the extra horsepower yet, however in the next few months we should be seeing some gorgeous games. One anticipated update with the 7 was definitely the new camera, and simply put, the pictures that come out of this thing are gorgeous. Where you’ll see the most improvement is with low light photos. This is due to the new 1.8/f aperture along with optical image stabilisation allow for a longer exposure in low light situations. All of these photos were taken in extremely dark environments and the camera holds up really well. In more favourable situations the camera is still incredible, it does an extremely good job with white balance and exposing the photo correctly. Colours are accurate and that new wide aperture really allows for some shallow depth of field in macro shots like this one.

The new image signal processor that Apple raved about at the event appears to be doing its job because the photos are honestly beautiful. The selfie camera has improved as well, it’s a new 7MP sensor, and it takes decent selfies. Unfortunately not a wide angle lens like on the S7 which would have been nice to see. However, it still takes decent selfies. With all that power, louder speakers, the brighter screen and more advanced camera, what’s battery life like? It’s definitely better than the previous generation of iPhones. The slightly larger 1960mAH battery paired with the more efficient A10 would get me through pretty heavy day with around 10-20% before I went to bed, much better than the 6s where it would die almost every day. However, using GPS a lot is a battery killer, on days where I needed navigation it would die before I got home. Obviously the battery life on the 7+ will be much greater because of the larger battery, so if you don’t mind the extra size, consider upgrading to the 7+. Overall, it’s a really solid phone, but it would have been perfect if it had a wide angle selfie camera and if they just left the headphone jack where it belongs.
